Life Choices
At first, I thought the point was that this woman was much happier before she got rich. In the first panel, she’s dressed simply, and she tattooed “good life” on her knuckles. In the second panel she accumulated money – she’s wearing a fancy dress and has lots of jewelry. But she crossed out the word “good” with rings. She has a life, but even though she has money, it’s not so good anymore.
Another way to interpret this is about how your life changes and your views change. You get a tattoo because it reflects how you’re feeling at a certain moment in time. But things change, and then you’re stuck with a tattoo that doesn’t reflect you, your life, your tastes, or your opinions anymore.
