Breakfast in America
Breakfast in bed sounds lovely. Wouldn’t you want someone else to go down and buy fresh croissants at the bakery, brew fresh coffee and squeeze fresh orange juice before you have even opened your eyes, and then bring it all to your bed as you wake up? It really sounds like the perfect indulgence. But in reality – the first thing I need to do when I wake up is to go to the bathroom.
How can you eat or drink before you get out of bed and wash your face? Plus – like the illustration clearly shows – if you eat in bed, you are bound to fill your sheets with crumbs, and you might spill a bit of coffee too. Breakfast in bed: nice idea on paper, poor in practice.
