This Is Great! Everybody Says So
People will always tell you to choose quality over quantity. Quality, they say, puts a focus on substance and depth and will ultimately make you much happier than having lots of mediocre stuff. Minimalism is frequently praised. Japanese decluttering and organizing guru Marie Kondo made a career out of this idea.
That’s very nice but the truth is that sometimes quality is not enough. A 5-star rating really isn’t saying much if it’s based on one review. We’ve all been there: you want to buy a product online or book a romantic getaway at a nice hotel, you see the 5-star rating and are all excited, and then you notice that it is based on very few reviews. The question is: how many reviews are enough?
