Analog or Digital – That Is the Question
Once upon a time, you needed a recording studio to record music. You needed actual equipment, like instruments, studio monitors, microphones, a mixing table, etc. Plus, you needed professionals to operate this equipment. This all was tedious, expensive, and time-consuming.
Later on, the computer became the heart of the recording studio. Even if you recorded with actual instruments, it was all plugged into a computer. Nowadays you don’t even need that. There are digital computer programs or apps that you can create music on. They come complete with sound libraries that include all instruments imaginable, and you don’t even need to know how to play an instrument to make music.
It’s all intuitive and easy. If you have a musical ear and are creative and talented, you can make awesome music on one of these things – even if you’re a 6-year-old. No professionals are needed. Lots of people still prefer analog recording and can argue its superiority. But you must admit that this technological advancement can truly make your head spin.
