Out of spite
“Don’t use that stupid lumberjack photo – Mom.” – Of course he did. Growing up, we tend to disrespect our mother’s opinions and rules, since it seems like she just has too many of them. We think we know better, but as we grow up, we start to realize that our mothers do know best, and their only goal in life is helping us and making our lives easier.
Of course, we don’t learn this valuable lesson until we graduate from high school, and it’s okay, because sometimes we need to make our own mistakes in order to learn from them. Griffin has made a horrible mistake by using this stupid lumberjack photo for his yearbook (his mother’s words, not ours), just to spite his mother, and this mistake will forever stay buried in his closet.
