The Chicha Purple Temptation in Peru
McDonald’s in Peru does dessert menu items differently than what we’re accustomed to here in the US. The Chicha Purple Temptation is a decadent dessert that looks more like it belongs at a high-class pasty shop than it does in a fast-food restaurant. Just looking at the sweet, tangy jam on top of a creamy pasty is making our mouths water.
The coloring agent in this pasty isn’t blueberry. It comes from blue corn, an antioxidant-rich ingredient that’s used to make the drink, chicha morada. This is a definite must-try for anyone planning a future hiking trip to Machu Picchu.
