#22: Hazel
The name Hazel dates back to the late 1800s, when many names were inspired by nature. Hazel, of course, was inspired by the color hazel, a shade of brown that combines gold and green. It was popular across the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century, but somewhat declined in popularity around the late 60s.

But there’s more! The name later made a resurgence around the late 90s, and it’s actually fairly popular to this day.
