I agree with this person about the name Conrad. It’s a solid name. It doesn’t sound too old, but it also doesn’t sound ridiculously modern. It has German origins and has always been a popular name associated with strength and sophistication.

The thing is, I wouldn’t say it’s an old name per se. After all, it never really went out of fashion. According to the person who suggested it, its popularity in the US peaked during the 1930s, and it’s been around ever since.
