The Move of German Citizens From East to West Berlin After the Fall of the Wall, 1991
After the Berlin Wall fell in November 1991, thousands of families were finally reunited for the first time in almost thirty years. The coming weeks saw a rush of citizens who wished to move their homes from east to west Berlin, in order to be closer to the families they were separated from for all those years.
As a result, these traffic jams were seen on a daily basis. Cars filled with people who wanted to be closer to their loved ones, hoping for a better tomorrow, while trying to leave their troubled pasts behind.
