Bob Marley & Jimi Hendrix Playing Soccer, 1968
This photo depicts what was a CHANCE meeting between two men who are now regarded as being among the most iconic musicians in human history. This previously unknown meeting between Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley took place in Greenwich Village, lower Manhattan in 1968 when a 23-year-old Marley happened to bump into Hendrix jamming with some of his Blues musician friends.
Clearly, someone who was there that day got hold of a soccer ball, and hey presto, this amazing shot was taken. It’s funny to think that these two incredibly talented musicians were also skilled soccer players. Guess everyone plays soccer in their childhood.
