Diamonds don’t shine, they refract
When taking a leisurely drive through the desert, you’re bound to come across weird and mysterious objects. For the most part, they’re nothing to get worked up about, but that doesn’t mean your curiosity won’t be piqued. This guy found lights that “shone bright like a diamond” and had to find out what they were.
These lights are a part of a generator plant that produces electricity for a nearby city. The shiny objects you see on the ground in the distance are mirrors that take sunlight and focus it to produce heat and steam, which are then converted to electricity.
