Look at all the purrty colors
When we first laid eyes on this picture, we thought we were looking at a paint palette of sorts. But those tiny roads are a clear indication that someone high up or a satellite took this picture. Now that we’ve determined that these are huge colorful objects, what exactly are they?
Nobody could provide a clear-cut answer, but the likeliest theory is that these evaporation ponds. People place mineral-filled water inside of these ponds, let the power of the sun evaporate the water, and extract the remaining minerals. If there was a mineral mine nearby, then it’s almost certain that these are evaporation ponds.
