What the hill is that?
We’re not sure how we’d react upon seeing this contraption in person. It looks like a metal pipe is sticking out of a hill, but for what purpose? Is this a greener way for companies to get rid of their refuge, or are moles learning to use technology?
It turns out that this thing is used to cause avalanches. Yep, you read that right. People will intentionally cause avalanches to make snowy hills safer. By triggering an avalanche, authorities have a greater chance of being in control of the “natural disaster” than they otherwise would if they let nature that its course.
