A seat for ants
This guy was left confused when he opened this mailbox and found a tiny floating dish hanging on the inside wall. No, it doesn’t look like a seat for ants. Ants are far too small, and this dish could probably support the weight of hundreds of ants. It looks more like a seat for rats, if you ask us.
Well, neither of us is correct. This is actually a change dish, which olden-day mailboxes had to leave change for postal workers. If a letter was sent without settling the stamp bill beforehand, the recipient could leave a few cents in this dish that the mailman would pick up while on duty. Pretty neat.
