Special Star Wars
Star Wars Episode 1, also known as The Phantom Menace, was one of the biggest movie releases in history. Figures show that the movie made over $1 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of 1999. And it’s not just the box office that was impressive; the movie also had huge merchandise sales.

Lucasfilm sold over $3 billion worth of Star Wars-related merchandise! If that wasn’t enough, there was a boom in 1999 of children named Anakin, Jedi, or Padmé. But despite its impressive numbers, the movie received mixed reviews and left a lot of fans disappointed, proving that sometimes, numbers don’t tell the whole story.
