Jennifer Suhr
Jennifer Suhr brought home the gold in women’s pole vault. She won the silver medal in the same competition in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Jenn started her pole vaulting career pretty late at 22 years old, but under the watchful eye of her coach and future husband, Rick, it only took her ten months before participating in the sport competitively.
While Jennifer hasn’t officially announced her retirement, she’s stopped competing in pole vaulting in 2016 after participating in Rio de Janeiro. She finished seventh place, which was far below expectations, and silently stepped away from the game. Currently, she uses her time to fight for animal rights.
