Jessica Hardy
Jessica Hardy is a breaststroke and freestyle specialist. In the 2012 Olympic Games, she received a gold medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay and helped set a new world record in the process. She also received bronze in the 4×100-meter freestyle alongside Missy Franklin and Allison Schmitt.
What’s impressive about the California native is that she competed in the 2012 Games with fractured ribs and left knee. She didn’t qualify for either the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, so she’s probably cheering on our country’s representatives at home like the rest of us. Go, Team USA! She made headlines in 2008 when she tested positive for a drug test, which automatically made her ineligible to compete in Beijing.
