Francena McCorory
Francena McConory represented the US in the 2012 Olympics in track and field. She took home the gold medal in the 4×400-meter relay race and again in the 2016 Olympics. It was after Rio de Janeiro that she retired from competitive sports.
Or so she said. When news broke out that the 2020 Olympics were postponed for a year, she felt that it would give her enough time to brush off the dust from four years of not competing. After not making the cut, she decided to return to retirement. If she ever decides to come back, we’ll watch her career with great enthusiasm.
