Dana Vollmer
Dana Vollmer impressed judges during the trial stage by recording 56.50 seconds in the 100-meter butterfly and 1:57.47 minutes in the 200-meter freestyle races, securing the gold and bronze medals in those categories, respectively. In London, she set a new world record for the 100-meter butterfly by completing the race in 55.98 seconds.
Outside of the competitive swimming world, Dana was chosen to become the ambassador for the Go Red for Women program. In 2019, she officially announced her retirement due to complications following ACL and heart surgery, as well as an unending bout with mental health problems. In 2017, she gave birth to her second son, Ryker.
