Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! The Day of Love may fall in one of the coldest months of the year, but our hearts are warmed by the unique displays of affection from couples the world over. Seriously, love is weird. It’s a strange feeling that causes even stranger biochemical reactions in our bodies. If you’re into peace and love and rock ‘n roll, then check out our list of peculiar Valentine’s Day gifts that remind us there isn’t one right way to express love (but there is a wrong one).
Putting Our Love on the Plate
Microbiologists have an … interesting definition of love. At least according to this photo. Someone sent their beloved a snap containing plates of E.coli and a creative take on the iconic “Roses Are Red” poem. If this were sent to us, we’d be instantly smitten. Nothing is sexier than science. Seriously, nothing.
You know, if it weren’t for science, we wouldn’t be celebrating Valentine’s Day at all. It’s biology, baby. And the chemistry between us human beings that fuels these displays of affection. Otherwise, we’d be unfeeling robots with nary a notion as to what love is. And wouldn’t that just be the pits!
