Engine failure
As they moved toward the large mountain they had seen, the engine began to splutter, before dying completely. In dismay, the two men were left floating in the middle of the ocean. The land was in sight, but they could do nothing but drift at the mercy of the wind and the waves.
Calling for help seemed a sensible option here, so Alvarenga picked up the radio and called his boss, WIlly. It was at this point that Alvarenga noticed that the radio was only half charged. Thankfully, Willy answered straight away and they tried to come up with a plan.
