Living life to the full
Although Alvarenga was safe once he washed up on the shore of Tile Islet, he still suffered from shock for months afterward. However, even though he has gone through a ridiculously difficult time, he still has a message of hope for anyone else dealing with traumatic situations.
He says that, through loneliness, hunger, thirst, and trauma, he never gave up, because we only get one life and we should always appreciate it. Make the most of our time on this earth, and appreciate what we’ve been given, no matter what life throws at us, and no matter how bleak life can be.
