Imagination is king
Alvarenga told journalists that the hardest part of being out on the ocean was the loneliness he felt once Cordoba had passed away. Dealing with the isolation meant he had to come up with ways of filling his time and his mind so he didn’t go crazy.

He survived by using his imagination to concoct intricate scenarios where he traveled the world to wonderful places, had delicious dinners with beautiful women, and talked to interesting people from all walks of life. This inner world helped him through the loneliest time of his life.
