Keeping his promise
Aside from his own personal reunion, he was aware that he had a promise to keep. Cordoba’s dying wish was that Alvarenga would go and visit his mother to tell her about his final days. Alvarenga was keen to keep this promise to a dying man as soon as he could.
So, once he was healthy enough, Alvarenga made the journey to Mexico, to meet with Ana Rosa, Cordoba’s mother. He sat with her and the family for hours, answering every single question they had about the time the two spent together, the circumstances surrounding the fishing trip, and his final hours.
