Keeping warm
Keeping warm had been another problem, so after the icebox had been cleared of fish, the men had taken to huddling together inside it to conserve heat and keep warm. They would take it in turns to venture out to bail out water from the rapidly filling hull.

With the falling rain, the two men set about collecting drinking water in the bucket they had been using to bail out the boat. Stripping off and enjoying the feel of the fresh water on their skin, they were relieved. They had to be careful with their supplies, and so agreed on strict rationing of the water they collected.
