Rodent Olympics

For some reason, this picture gives us the creeps more than most of the other photos on the list. Someone found this soaking rodent in their house, which appears to have climbed out of the toilet exhausted. Although this looks just like a rat, don’t be deceived; it is actually a flying squirrel. But it also swims, apparently.

You might be a little relieved to learn this isn’t an extremely skilled rat, but a flying squirrel – a rodent that’s most commonly found in the Northeast. Apparently, this flying squirrel does a lot more than flying – it can also swim. Whatever this is, and whatever his capabilities are – we don’t want them in our house!
