#17: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)
As with Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer easily could have ended with season five. The stories came together in such a way that it seemed that fifth season was the true ending. Yet the show went on for two more seasons. While they weren’t outright bad, they did start to feel less imaginative with sloppier writing and tired storylines. The sudden tonal shift in season six also would have made more sense if the rest of the show followed suit to begin with.
