Mahlon Reye’s Death
There was another untimely death that shook the Deadliest Catch family to the core. A deckhand on both the Seabrooke and the Cape Caution, Mahlon Reyes, died in August 2020. He had a heart attack at home and was transported to a hospital in Whitefish, Montana. His family opted to remove him, 38, from life support after a day.
Their Facebook eulogy added, “In the middle of the night on Sunday, our family removed him from life support. Mahlon’s physique was fatigued from fighting. He was our best pal. He is surrounded with love.” Nick McGlashan’s Deadliest Catch family offered condolences and happy memories.
