Abandon Ship!
Many reality stars consider their own spin-off shows to be a true indicator of success in Hollywood. The Hillstrand brothers were offered their own show, Hillstranded, in 2010 due to their popularity. The brothers’ series had been shot, but they had their fair share of issues with Discovery during the post-production phase.
They were asked to return to Discovery’s studio to record voiceovers and help polish the final product, but it appeared that the brothers had abandoned ship. So, Discovery launched a $3 million lawsuit against them. The Hillstrands responded by quitting the program and taking captain Sig Hansen with them.
