What the Cameras Don’t Show
Watching Deadliest Catch makes it appear as if the fishermen are all alone in the middle of the ocean. The reality TV show portrays the life of those who work on fishing boats as being secluded, although this is not the case. Instead of a single boat in the ocean, hundreds of ships are likely to be traveling in the same body of water.
They are in a commercial fishing area, after all, and capturing as many crabs as possible will net you the highest profit. Businesses aren’t going to allow just a few boats to steal all of the good catches, and our heroes face stiff competition whenever they set sail.
