The crew on the fishing boats appear to be hardly able to catch their breath in the Discovery reality series. They work really hard, but they aren’t always working day in and day out as the reality TV show portrays. The teams on these ships have a lot more downtime than you imagine.
For every explosive moment that makes the show, there are hundreds that don’t. Above all, the show is designed to entertain, and it would be boring to watch a bunch of fishermen playing cards or napping in their bunks. The emotional and high-intense moments are what keep people coming back for more.
