While reality television does an excellent job of relaying people’s lives, there are always details that are left out of the final cut. The fishing team on Deadliest Catch does, in fact, put their lives on the line for their employment. The celebs, on the other hand, have private lives that the majority of us are unaware of. This is a collection of behind-the-scenes stories from Deadliest Catch.
Jerod Sechrist’s 43-Day Stint Behind Bars
Jerod Sechrist, who caused a commotion when he first appeared on board a crabbing ship, was one of the more noteworthy short-term cast members of Deadliest Catch. The reality show follows the crew members as they search for crabs in dangerous waters, but crabs can’t be caught by just anyone.
Fishermen must be able to distinguish between male and female crabs in order to return the females to the ocean and avoid overfishing. Even though Jerod claimed to be an expert angler, he couldn’t distinguish one gender from the other. That was only the beginning of Sechrist’s problems since the police would eventually catch up with him. Police allegedly pulled up the former Deadliest Catch cast member for careless driving after discovering illegal substances on his person.
