Nobody Understands English
When you visit another country, it’s respectful to try at least to learn some of the language. It’s not only respectful, but it will help you know important phrases when you need information, when you’re trying to get to a destination, or looking for recommendations. Expecting everyone to know the language you speak will only leave you feeling lost and helpless.
A tourist to Spain was shocked to find out no one understood English. They left a petty review complaining about this matter and claiming they will never go back there again. Some countries don’t speak English as a first or even second language. It’s important to show respect in another country, and a great way to do so is by trying to learn the country’s native language.
