There’s a series of bone-chilling stories on Reddit about how a SAR office would often encounter stairs in the middle of the forest. The scariest thing about these stairs is that they weren’t always dilapidated. You’d think that they would succumb to decay after being out in the wild for so long, but based on these stories, this wasn’t the case.

So, when someone snapped a shot of a staircase in the forest that seemingly led to nowhere, commenters were quick to tell the OP to leave the area. There’s also a legend that touching these stairs can lead to horrible consequences. It’s just a myth, but we wouldn’t want to test our luck.
