#38: Fresh Prince of Homonyms
This Tumblr thread took Will Smith’s name and turned it into a word nerd game. The original poster pointed out that “Will Will Smith smith” is a grammatically correct sentence. Sure, it could use some punctuation, but it still technically makes sense. Other users then went on to create their own versions of a Will Smith sentence, and things got wild.
All of these different sentences make sense, which is so interesting! It’s all dependent on what words are emphasized and how the speaker or reader pauses between words. One person even turned it into a full-on conversation, which is pretty hilarious. Hopefully, anyone who is learning English didn’t stumble upon this and get too confused!
