#2: Justice for Bill Posters

Here, a sign reads, “Bill posters will be prosecuted.” Of course, this sign, often found in Britain, basically means, “Don’t put any advertisements on this building, or we’ll call the police.” But this smart-aleck graffiti artist effectively changed how we all perceive this sign.

How did the graffiti artist do this? By adding another sign that reads, “Bill Posters is an innocent man!” underneath the original warning sign. Now, we no longer read “Bill Posters” as people who post bills but as real people named Bill Posters who don’t deserve prosecution.
