Let’s Forget About the Order of Operations, Shall We?
Have you heard of PEMDAS? It stands for parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. Basically, it describes in what order you should solve a mathematical equation. It’s a pretty simple concept to get, and it was taught to every child in the 7th grade.
Following PEMDAS, the answer to “2 + 4 × 2” would be 10 since you multiply 4 by 2 before adding 2. Of course, you all know this, so I didn’t have to explain it… right?
