The Logic Checks Out
What is a mammal? Glad you asked. A mammal is a warm-blooded vertebrate that has hair or fur, secretes milk, and gives birth to its young. Platypuses are an exception, and we don’t even know why they’re classified as mammals in the first place! Anyway, what were we talking about?
Oh, right, bats! Bats are indeed mammals because they fulfill all 3 of these fundamental criteria. Just because it flies doesn’t mean it’s not a mammal. Also, are ostriches birds, even though they can’t fly?
