#3: Learning to Count
When you buy your children a book that’s supposed to teach them how to count, you never expect it to have mistakes that seem like they were made by the five-year-old who’s supposed to learn from this book. I mean, we try not to be too judgmental, but how hard is it to count the six bananas in the illustration? (Talking about bananas, this takes us back to the previous photo of the bananas – a child should know they’re not called “long yellow things”).
After seeing this mistake, I wouldn’t trust this book. I would return it to the store and demand my money back, which might even make me lose hope in all children’s learning books. Yes, we said we all make mistakes, but this kind of basic mistake makes you wonder what has gone wrong with our world.
