#4: Gardening
Gardening asks you to slow down to the pace of living things, and that alone can be calming in a world that keeps hurrying people along. Seeds do not care about your schedule. Tomatoes ripen when they ripen. Roses take their time. Weeds come whether you are ready or not. There is comfort in that kind of honesty. Tending a garden gives the hands something useful to do and gives the mind a steady place to rest, especially because so much of it depends on routine: watering, trimming, checking the soil, noticing what has changed since yesterday.
