#16: Working with your hands
There is a particular satisfaction that comes from making, fixing, sanding, stitching, painting, or building something real. Working with your hands draws attention out of abstract worry and places it into wood grain, thread, tools, brushes, measurements, and little visible progress. A loose cabinet hinge, a half-finished scarf, a table that needs refinishing, a little model airplane, all of these can become more than tasks. They become a form of focus.
