Tim Curry’s Life and Career in 26 Photos

Curry returned to the London stage in 1982 and hustled a new role. He played the Pirate King in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance at the Theater Royal. The part was a perfect fit, allowing him to flex his comedic muscles, powerful voice, and theatrical bravado all at once. His performance was a highlight of the show and earned him an Olivier Award nomination, the British equivalent of a Tony.
