Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) was a school program that was popular in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Officers often visited schools to tell students about the horrors of drugs, and many of them knew how to scare us straight. Sometimes, we’d be shown graphic photos that came from drug abuse. There was even a D.A.R.E. cartoon that ironically looked like someone was on drugs when they made it.
