
The 1970s were filled with technological advancements and significant world events like any other decade. But seeing as so much time has passed since this undeniably interesting decade, we thought we would take a trip down memory lane and try and jog our memories. Even if some of these events have gone undetected for some time, these moments changed the course of history forever. #1: Walt Disney World Opened (1971)
The grand opening of Walt Disney World in 1971 was a fairly extravagant affair. With over 400,000 in attendance, the now world-renowned amusement park saw its birth into the world. The cost of a ticket was $3.50, a big difference from the cost of a ticket today, and the number of hotels associated with the amusement park was only two, compared to today with over 25.
