#33: What’s Pregaming?
Americans love football and other sports, and they adore their pregaming rituals. When they ask a non-American if they want to pregame, the non-American will shoot them a look saying, “huh?!” To Americans, pregaming usually means having some alcoholic drinks before a major event. If it’s before a sporting event, they call it tailgating. Who made up these words?
Predrinking makes more sense, but you have to admit that pregaming has a certain appeal to it. No matter how you look at it, both words mean the same thing. We can definitely see the confusion on the non-American end, though. Anyway, who’s ready to pregame? If you’re a college kid or just an avid sports fan, you’re probably eagerly nodding your head.
