#12: That Time a Plane Crashed on the South Lawn

On September 12, 1994, a stolen Cessna crash‑landed on the White House South Lawn. The pilot, Frank Eugene Corder, cut the engine and glided in from tree height.

Luckily, President Bill Clinton and his family were away. No one else was hurt, but the incident showed how vulnerable the White House could be and led to stricter aerial security around the building.
