Christopher Eccleston’s public criticism of the show’s decisions during his time as Doctor Who is well-known. Even though he had been the show’s first Doctor since its 2005 revival, Christopher Eccleston decided he’d had enough of it after only a year and decided to step away from the series.
He was quoted as saying, “I’ve had enough,” and that he and the show’s producers couldn’t agree on the show’s direction, so he left the role and was regenerated in the show after only one season.
