#9: Paul Revere – Sons of Liberty
Everyone knows about Paul Revere’s midnight ride in April 1775, but few realize how he got his information. Revere worked as a silversmith and served as a key operative for Boston’s Sons of Liberty. He used his business to gather intelligence on British troop movements around Massachusetts. The artisan also belonged to the local Freemasons, showing that he loved underground political networks just as much as he loved crafting silver bowls and engraving political cartoons.
