When Cyndi Lauper first released “True Colors” it wasn’t intended to be a song specifically for the LGBTQ community. But considering the content of the song, it quickly took on a whole new meaning for many members of that community. Considering that Lauper is a big ally of the LGBTQ community, she was very proud that her song holds deep meaning within that community.
