Perhaps one of the oldest skits on this list, “Olympia Cafe,” first aired in 1978. Starring John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, and Bill Murray, the sketch was bound for greatness. The three actors were restaurant employees selling cheeseburgers, chips, and Pepsi (not Coke).

Inspired by an authentic restaurant called Billy Goat Tavern, which Belushi frequented often, the sketch has a genuine authenticity. Even those who had never been to the restaurant began to understand what it was like. The famous line “cheeseburger, cheeseburger, no Coke, Pepsi” is an SNL classic.
